When boredom strikes...

By Nicole Donnelly, MK Annapolis March 14, 2017

This storm is looking to be a doozy! We've compiled 25 fun activities to make it easier to survive Cabin Fever with kids in the house!

  1. There's never a better time to get out that 100 piece (or 1,000 piece) puzzle and put it together!
  2. Get out the Play Doh. Or make your own!
  3. Play a board game! Dust off Scrabble, Candy Land, Apples to Apples, and other long lost board games in your closet. Even older kids have fun with this one!
  4. Cook or bake! Check out these easy, kid-friendly recipes!
  5. Paint. Get out the water colors and make some of these fun projects with your kids!
  6. Make snowflakes out of coffee filters! (And use a second one to brew some Lulu + Stir while you're at it!)
  7. Play outside! Bundle everyone up for a family snowball fight! Yes, that means you too, mama! (Unless someone has to stay inside to make sure the coffee and hot chocolate are ready when the kids are done playing!)
  8. Do some homemade science experiments! Here are some that you can eat!
  9. Play with painters tape
  10. Play hopscotch inside!
  11. Watch a movie! Break out one of your favorites from when you were a kid and treat your littles to some popcorn on the couch!
  12. Build a fire! If you have a fireplace, get your kids help in building a fire! There are lots of parts that don't include touching the flame! Everything from gathering wood to crinkling up newspaper.
  13. Build a fort.
  14. Dig out the old coloring books and crayons. Coloring is proving to be very calming... so young or old, this is a great activity for the family!
  15. Make a music video. My son LOVES doing this. And all I need is my phone to record, and a song. He likes to dance along to a YouTube video, but even just the  radio would work!
